The Roper Whitney No. 4 shear with its standard blade is expressly designed to cut up to 2″ x 2″ x 1/4″ angle iron and produces a clean, burr-free cut every time.
Since the extreme capacity of this tool is accomplished by a shearing action, there is a bending out or distortion of one leg of the angle iron when using the standard movable shear blade. To avoid this distortion, a contour moveable shear blade is offered to cut 1/2” x 1/2” x 1/8” to and including maximum contour capacity of 2” x 2” x 3/16”.
